  Hi, little stars! Today I’m going to talk about a person in my field that I admire, his name is Friedrich Serturner, and he was a German pharmacist. Friedrich Serturner was born on 19 June 1783, in Neuhaus. Unfortunately, when he was 15 years old his parents died, so he had to start working as a pharmacist assistant where he learned all about active pharmaceutical principles of plants. Friedrich Serturner was the first chemist to separate morphium from opium, which means, he discovered morphine and that is very important because Morphine is used to treat chronic severe pain. I admire this person because his discovery has helped a lot of people along the history, also I think he had a difficult life but despite that, he managed to grow and be someone important in the world. Hi, little stars! Today I’m going to talk about why and how chemistry and pharmacy can make the world a better place . First, I would like to say that my major has improved the world throughout history, it has controlled disease and eliminated epidemics and, until now, pharmacy has continued to improve. In my opinion, Chemistry and pharmacy it’s a very important profession because everything related to medicines is our work, we can help people, prevent disease, but the most important thing is that we must teach everyone how to use medicines correctly. Chemistry and pharmacy it’s a major with many practice areas like community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, and clinical pharmacy, in the future I see myself working as a hospital pharmacist because I think in that way, I can help people in a more directed way because I would make a special medicament for each patient.   Hi, little stars! Today I’m going to talk about a Photo very special to me. This photography was taken on October 19 th ,2019, one day after the “Estallido Social” has begun. The story behind the photo it’s simple, it was the first protest that took place in San Javier that year, the day before, the protests on Santiago began. The photo it’s important to me because it’s significant, my favorite thing on it is the fire because fire is destructive but also purifying, and I think that’s what we meant by the protest, something like “We’re angry and tired of injustice, but we want to make a change and improve things.” Also, I like the way people look with their signs behind the fire, you only can see a few of the people, but that day there were a lot of people. I think the photo is beautiful, it has a strong message and I hope you like it too, take care!

Hi little stars! Today I’m going to talk about my favorite food. First, I want to say I live with my grandmother and she cooks very well, so I don’t have a specific favorite meal but, in this case, I'm going to say my favorite food is “bistec a lo pobre” a typical Chilean food. Bistec a lo pobre is easy to cook, the basic elements are steak, fried potatoes, fried onions, and fried eggs… I know, a lot of fat, but it's tasty and once a month is fine. I really like this meal because is easy to cook and delicious, also my grandmother cooks it for special dates. As a said before, bistec a lo pobre has a lot of fat and calories, it’s not good for health, but I think I have a healthy diet in general, so it's not too bad for me.   Hi little stars! Today I’m going to talk about my cellphone, my favorite piece of technology. Since I was a child, always needed a phone because my mom lives in Santiago and I live in San Javier, so I needed to communicate with her, so she bought me my first cellphone when I was 3 years old, it was a Nokia. Now, I have a Huawei and I love it, it has a lot of memory and a very good camera. On my phone I can listen to music, watching my social media like  Instagram, Twitter and Tiktok and I can make video calls with my boyfriend. I recommend use a cellphone, especially a Huawei because, like a said before, they have a lot of memory for games and photos. I hope you like my blog this week, take care!

  Hi, little stars! Today I'm going to talk about my major.  I decided to study Chemistry and pharmacy because I always liked Chemistry, science, and helping people. When I was a child, my dream work was to be an astronaut because I always loved the stars and the unknown of space, but when I grew up, I realized that astronaut don't look at stars all night, they do much more than that.  If I wouldn’t study Pharmacy, I really don’t know what I would be.  Maybe I would study medicine because my grandfather wanted that, but I don’t like that major. My experience at the online university has been pretty good, I’ve learned new things and I made new friends, nevertheless, I hope that one day we will go back to the university.  I hope to see you soon, take care!  ❀
